Engineer
Department: Maintenance
Reports To: Chief Engineer

Under the supervision of the Chief Engineer; responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the physical plant that is The Listel Hotel and O’Doul’s Restaurant & Bar. Continually maintain and exceed all standards of service and guest satisfaction, thus, increasing business and furthering the hotel’s reputation of providing a quality experience. As this is a very physical job, excellent health and a high level of physical fitness is required.

Responsibilities include:

  • Under the direction of the Chief Engineer, conduct routine preventative maintenance and any other reasonable duties, which may be assigned.
  • Maintain effective communication with hotel staff and management, as it relates to the maintenance of the building and the safety of the hotel’s guests and staff.
  • Inspect guestrooms, public spaces and back of house areas to repair, maintain or replace: Light bulbs, lamps, switches, outlets, faucets, toilets, bathroom fixtures, various hardware, filters, paint, furniture, wall coverings, caulking, grouting, etc…

Position requirements:

  • Considerable knowledge of a wide variety of maintenance trades and the ability to recognize which duties could be accomplished “in-house” and which will require “outside” expertise.
  • Basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry and technical expertise (at least 1 year experience).
  • Experience in the safe use of basic hand and power tools.
  • Physical ability to stoop, kneel, grasp, lift, push and pull weights of up to 35kgs, climb ladders up to 30 feet high and reach in all directions, often times overhead.

 

Room Attendant
Department: Housekeeping
Reports To: Rooms Division Manager, Executive Housekeeper and
Assistant Housekeeper

A Room Attendant is responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the Housekeeping department by keeping assigned hotel rooms cleaned and stocked as per Hotel standards. Room Attendants must continually maintain and exceed all standards of service and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring guest satisfaction and superlative service.
  • To keep carts and supply room stocked and well maintained at all times.
  • To clean assigned hotel rooms as per hotel standards.
  • To report any deficiencies noticed throughout the hotel, and specifically in guestrooms.
  • To assist other Room Attendants as instructed and to clean areas other than hotel rooms, as assigned by supervisors.

Position requirements:

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • As this is a very physical job, good health and a high level of physical fitness is required.
  • Previous experience as a Room Attendant (or related position) is an asset but not required.

 

Guest Services Agent (Front Desk)
Department: Front Office
Reports To: Front Desk Manager

A Guest Services Agent is responsible for daily operations of the Front Desk. The successful applicant must have excellent communication skills; have strong attention to detail and an outgoing and upbeat personality.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring guest satisfaction and superlative service at check in/out and during their stay.
  • Reservations, concierge & switchboard duties.
  • Daily duties including cash handling, running reports, coordinating operations with Bellmen, Valets, Housekeeping and Maintenance staff.

Position requirements:

  • Computer literacy in a PC environment.
  • Experience in customer service.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to lift 25 kg.

 

Bellman/Valet
Department: Front Office
Reports To: Front Desk Manager

The Bellman/Valet is responsible for daily operations of the Lobby and Valet areas. The successful applicant must have excellent communication skills; strong attention to detail and an outgoing and upbeat personality. As this is a very physical job, excellent health and a high level of physical fitness is required. They must hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license and be able to produce a current “Driver’s Abstract” prior to being hired for this position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring guest satisfaction and superlative service at check in/out and during their stay.
  • Safely handling guest vehicles and valuables.
  • Daily duties include coordinating operations with the Front Desk, maintaining the Lobby area and greeting guests at the front door of the Hotel.

Position requirements:

  • Computer literacy in a PC environment.
  • Experience in customer service.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • A high level of physical fitness as this position requires a great deal of heavy lifting. Must be able to lift 35kg.
  • Excellent driving record (Current Driver’s Abstract must be provided).
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers license required.
  • Ability to comfortably operate both Manual and Automatic transmissions.

 

Restaurant Server Assistant
Department: Food & Beverage Department
Reports To: Restaurant Manager

Responsible for  smooth and efficient service in O'Doul's Restaurant & Bar. Continually maintain and exceed all standards of service, and guest satisfaction. Provide a joyful, memorable, and relaxed experience for the guest.
This position offers training and experience in restaurant operations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Participate and become familiar with the Server Assistant’s duties
  • Regularly liaise with the Restaurant Manager to keep abreast of any new food & beverage programs and incentives
  • Check the weekly schedule, as you are responsible for your scheduled shifts
  • Maintain effective communication within the restaurant as with the Restaurant Manager and Supervisors
  • Liaise with the Restaurant Manager regarding guest feedback
  • Become familiar with the procedure manual and technology currently in use in the restaurant
  • Assist Restaurant Servers in set-up, clean-up and guest satisfaction
  • Any other reasonable duties that may be assigned periodically.

Room Service & Banquet Server
Department: Food & Beverage Department
Reports To: Banquet Manager

Responsible for the smooth and efficient services in Room Service and Mini-bar; as well as related guest services. Continually maintain and exceed all standards of service, and guest satisfaction. Provide a joyful, memorable, and relaxed experience for the guest.  This position offers training and experience in every aspect of hotel food & beverage operations.

Responsibilities include:

Room Service

  • Taking room service orders, and assembling and delivering the order efficiently.
  • Providing excellent customer service including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for service, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Restocking and maintaining order and cleanliness in the service areas.

Mini Bars

  • Checking mini bars accurately and restocking as required.

Banquets

  • The ability to set a banquet room precisely according to the floor plan requirements.
  • Banquet service and bartending.
