There are many things that set the Listel apart from other hotels – from our prime location in downtown Vancouver to our award-winning service and exquisite on-site dining. But the two elements of our hotel philosophy that distinguish us the most – and of which we are the most proud – are our passion for the arts and our commitment to environmental responsibility. The Listel is brimming with distinctive, original artwork by a broad, diverse group of famous and emerging artists. And we’ve coupled our love for the arts with an equally strong sense of responsibility about preserving the world around us, implementing eco-friendly amenities and practices whenever possible, both within the property and in our daily routines.
About Us
Learn About Our Passion for the Arts & Environment
ArtThere’s a reason why visual arts critic Robin Laurence has dubbed The Listel "Vancouver's most art-full hotel" and “a cultural tourist’s dream”. Amazing art is everywhere you turn – from the striking sculptural pieces in the lobby to the works on the wall in every individual room. Curated by the influential Buschlen Mowatt Gallery, the rooms on our Gallery Floors boast more than 250 original pieces by over 30 regional and International artists. Our Museum Floors feature "Northwest Coast art by Northwest Coast artists", and showcase the work of many of the province's finest First Nations artists, such as Musqueam printmaker Susan Point, Tlingit artist Eugene Alfred, and Kwakwaka'wakw potter Judy Cranmer.

EnvironmentThe Listel Hotel is dedicated to environmental protection and sustainability. Environment Matters, our eco-initiative, strives to minimize our property’s operational impact on the environment, through resource conservation and best practices.
As an inaugural participant in both the City of Vancouver’s “Corporate Climate Leader” and Tourism Vancouver’s “Tourism Ambassador for Conservation” programs, the Listel is a veritable green giant! We are the recipients of the highest eco-rating for any Vancouver boutique property – 5 Green Keys – by The Hotel Association of Canada, as well as a Platinum member of TripAdvisor’s Green Leaders program. Our signature restaurants, Forage and Timber, are active members of the Vancouver Aquarium’s Ocean Wise sustainable seafood program, and are strongly committed to local and sustainable food and wine. In addition to 20 solar panels and a state-of-the-art heat capture program (reducing the hotel’s natural gas use by 30% ), countless water reduction and air quality programs, and an ambitious bulk amenities program, the hotel has also been 100% Zero Waste as of August 2011. |
Pet FriendlyNo pet sitter? No problem! We are excited to welcome all 4 legged, furry guests to the hotel. If you’re thinking of including your “best friend”, let us know!
